As a horseback rider and member of the Riding Club, Elin Motherhead was contacted in September to help plan a trail ride for the Police Activities League which is run by law enforcement to help teens at risk. They had already chosen December 2nd as their date. This was also the date of the SRPRC dinner dance. Most of the Club members were involved with Christmas plans and the evenings activities. Dave Drefchinski, Elin Motherhead and Cheryl Searer met out in Tenaja at 8am and took about 45 riders on a 3 hour, 1st ever, PAL trail ride. There were many Sheriff Posse members taking care of traffic and those who were doing a separate 5K run. Afterwards, they had a BBQ and raffle prizes and live music. They did well for a first time event.

See their thank you below.

To Elin Motherhead and the Santa Rosa Plateau Riding Club

Hi Elin,

I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you so much for helping us on the December 2nd PAL ride. Please pass on to the other trail guides, Dave & Cheryl, our deepest thanks and let them know we made $14,000 on the event. That is great for the first time and I know next year will be even better. We are going to do it in September and have already had a debriefing meeting to make it better for next year.

Thanks again Elin!

Melissa
