Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat kinds of activities does the SRPRC sponsor? The SRPRC is the most active organization on the plateau. If you include the equestrian events, social activities, and group rides, we often have two and sometimes three activities in a month. The equestrian events include Team Sorting, Family Fun Days, and Ring Spearing. We try to have at least one group ride per month. These rides include the Poker Ride, St Patrick's Day ride, Sweethearts Ride, Overnight Ride in the fall, and breakfast and evening rides. Some rides include an easy route but you don't even have to be a rider to enjoy the event. Each ride is catered with a meal. Many come just to enjoy the food and conversation. We also sponsor social activities such as the Barn Dance, Casino Night, Valentines Sweethearts Dinner, the Holiday Dance, and a monthly potluck at members homes. Finally, we are the proud sponsor of the annual Rattlesnake Avoidance Clinic for dogs and the annual Fourth of July parade. So, if you qualify to be a member, come join us for the fun. Back to TopDo I need to either own a horse or know how to ride a horse to be a member? No. The SRPRC is also a very active social club. All members are invited to all the functions including the potlucks, dances, and dinners. At the riding events, come and watch at the fun day, Ring Spearing Contest, and Team Sorting. Then sit and enjoy the meals. Back to TopWhat are the membership dues? The dues are $75/year for a family membership and $60/year for a single membership. For renewing members, dues must be paid by January 30th to avoid a $25 late fee. For new members only, your first year membership is prorated from the date you join. Back to TopWhat does the club do with the money it collects? The SRPRC raises money from the membership dues and by sponsoring equestrian social activities such as horse shows, play days, trail rides, dinners and camp-outs. From the money collected, we first pay the expenses such as insurance, newsletter, caterer, drinks, signs, trophies, and portable toilets. Any profits, then, are spent on the primary objective of the club, that is "to create and preserve riding trails on the Santa Rosa Plateau." Back to TopWhat is required to be a member?First, membership is restricted to those who either live on the Santa Rosa Plateau or own property here. Then you must pay the dues. We welcome those dedicated to the purposes of the club - including having fun!. Back to TopWhat are the benefits of being a member?Well, the best part is you get to meet a lot of good people and have a lot of fun! You will receive a member directory, a great monthly newsletter, and access to the Member's Area of this web site. P.S. You also get to volunteer to help.
